The Hambach Democracy Dialogue 2023, held on June 15th and 16th 2023, addressed the pressing challenges faced by European democracies due to a series of overlapping crises: the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the rise of the illiberal right, the COVID-19 pandemic, and energy and cost-of-living issues.

The final session of EU Talks occurred on the afternoon of May 23rd, within the historical Salone dei Duecento of Palazzo Vecchio. The event was organised by the University of Florence, the researcher-led working group Ponte Europa at EUI, Europe Direct Firenze and the Municipality of Florence.

On 30 April 2021, the Italian government sent its National Recovery and Resilience Plan to the European Commission, taking the first official step in one of the largest modernization plans launched in Italy since the post-war period.

I am glad and honoured to join the editorial board of the Italian Political Science Review as Associate Editor. Looking forward to contributing to the growth of the flagship publication of the Italian political science community together with an incredible team of scholars.

I was invited to contribute to the “Expert Table: Policy makers and Academics Making an Impact in a Real World”. It was part of the Conference within Conference (CWC #2) at the Southern Political Science Association Annual Conference 2023 organized by the RC08 Research Committee of Legislative Specialists and the RC13 Democratization in Comparative Perspective of the International Political Science Association.

The conference celebrated the 10th anniversary of the European Parliament’s activities to support democracy around the world. MEPs and high-level guests gathered in Brussels on 29-30 November to reflect on ten years of Parliament’s activities to support democracy and discuss key lessons for the future.

I had the pleasure to give a guest lecture at the Monash University Prato Centre on NextGenerationEU and National recovery plans entitled “NGEU: What is important to know” inside of the course “The European Union challenges, crises and opportunities”

The third ReplanEU seminar within the cycle of seminars “Caffé Europa” entitled “L’Europa e il rapporto tra l’uomo e l’ambiente” took place on Thursday 17 November 17:30 at the Campus bookshop.
